*For Girls* He Ain't Gonna Text

          Okay, so we've all had a crush on that boy who is completely oblivious to the fact that we like them. Or maybe they know but don't have enough maturity to even think about texting us first. Yes, texting, because we live in a world where calling is wayyy too forward. Calling a boy just to talk would be like asking him right then and there to go out with you. So we text. Yet there's the problem that you don't get to hear the person's voice, so flirting is SO much for difficult over text! And so we, at least me, become desperate and grasp every extra "w" in "know" or every winky face (there's a HUGE difference between that and a smiley face). Anyway, we girls often end up making the first move with texting or calling, yet there comes a point where we get fed up and are like, "Ok. If he really likes me he'll text me." So we wait around, our heart leaping with every vibrate we get in our pockets, and then crashing on cold pavement when we see it's just someone with a homework question.

          But if there's one thing I've learned, it's that boys live on a planet, like Pluto, where one Earth year is equivalent to millions of their years. In other words, boys can't tell time. First of all, when they say, "I'll talk to you later" it doesn't actually mean they'll call you or text you or even approach you. "I'll talk to you" actually means you'll talk to them and they'll respond. So it means they plan on talking to you again, but why would they bother to make the first move? And if they actually intend on making the first move, just keep in mind that their "later" is entirely different from our "later", because it could mean later that day, later that week, later that month, later that year or later that lifetime! 

          So don't just sit around waiting girl, 'cause you'll be old and gray by the time they use that later!
